A hot air styler is a hair dryer, curling wand and styling brush in one device. It dries your hair, curls it, smooths the strands and adds volume with a stream of warm air rather than a heated plate. What is a hot air styler?

A hot air styler, also called an air styler or multi-styler, is a hair dryer with interchangeable styling attachments. You fit a drying nozzle, a curling barrel or a brush onto the body, and the air itself wraps the strand around the barrel and shapes the wave. This way you dry and style your hair in one step, on damp strands, without waiting for them to dry completely.

The ions neutralise static charges, so your hair frizzes less, is smoother and easier to style. A brushless BLDC motor running at 110,000 rpm and 1300 W of power deliver airflow of up to 24 m/s.

In the box you get seven attachments: Drying Nozzle, Concentrator, Diffuser, 32 mm and 40 mm Curling Barrels, Round Brush and Oval Brush. The curling barrels have a rotating tip, so with one barrel you can curl away from your face on both sides of your head. The LCD display shows the temperature mode (30, 70 and 90 °C plus a hot-cold cycle) and one of three airflow speeds, and holding the temperature button switches on a short burst of cold air that sets the shape of the strand. The NTC sensor measures the temperature 100 times per second, the device remembers your last settings, and the air filter comes off magnetically.

Hair dryer or hot air styler?

If you only want to dry your hair quickly, a good hair dryer is enough, such as one of our hair dryers with plasma or ionization. A hot air styler makes sense when, after drying, you reach for curling tongs, a straightener or a brush anyway. It does all of this in one go and at a lower temperature, because it styles with air of up to 90 °C instead of a plate heated to 165-210 °C.

How to choose a hot air styler that won't damage your hair

Look at five things. First, temperature: the lower it is for the same result, the less your ends dry out. Second, ionization or plasma, which reduce frizz. Third, temperature control and a cold shot, because it is cold air that sets your curls. Fourth, attachments that suit your hair: a wider barrel gives soft waves, a narrower one bouncy curls, and the brushes add volume and a smooth finish. Fifth, the warranty and after-sales service.
