Hair dryer with ionisation: what does ionisation do?

When you dry and brush your hair, it builds up an electrical charge and the strands start to frizz. A hair dryer with ionisation produces negative ions that neutralise this charge. After drying, the hair cuticles are closed, so the strands are smoother, easier to style and less prone to static.

Ionisation or plasma?

Ionisation means negative ions. Plasma in SkinVibe hair dryers means negative and positive ions at the same time: Aurea and Nova produce 1 billion ions per cubic centimetre, and Libra with ionisation produces 200 million negative ions. Both technologies reduce frizz, and plasma goes one step further, giving your hair more shine.

SkinVibe Aurea Family x Plasma is our flagship plasma hair dryer. It dries short hair in 29 seconds, weighs 410 g and runs quietly, at up to 59 dB. It has 7 modes (including modes for long and short hair and a gentle mode for children), a touch sensor that switches it off when you put it down, and 3 attachments: two concentrators and a wave diffuser.

SkinVibe Libra AirLoom is a more affordable hair dryer with ionisation. It has 4 temperature settings (cold, 50, 70 and 90 °C), 3 airflow speeds, a touch display, a 2.7 m cable and 3 attachments: two concentrators and a diffuser. It weighs 420 g.

SkinVibe Nova PlasmaGo is a compact travel hair dryer with plasma. It weighs 310 g (without cable and attachment), has the same motor speed as Aurea and fits in your travel bag. It comes in three colours: Blue Fog, Eggplant and Graphite.
